The Venerable Thrangu Rinpoche is one of the foremost teachers of the Kagyu tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. As Abbot of Rumtek Monastery, the seat of H.H. Karmapa in Sikkim, he became the personal tutor of the Regents of the Kagyu lineage. In 1986, at the request of Ven. Chogyam Thrungpa, Rinpoche assumed the position of Abbot of Gampo Abbey in Nova Scotia, Canada.

Thrangu Rinpoche holds the degree of Geshe Rabjam, the highest scholarship degree in the four sects of Tibetan Buddhism, and is recognized as a master of the Mahamudra teachings. He is renowned for his ability to make the most profound dharma teachings easily accessible to western students at all levels.

Thrangu Rinpoche has many western students, but has not taught on the US East Coast for six years.

The Friday night talk begins at 8 PM.
Saturday morning the program will begin at 9 AM.

If it is at all possible, please bring your own meditation cushion.
