SO YOU'VE DISCOVERED THE WEB, but aren't sure how to find the exact information you need? The following sites each provide you with the ability to find specific information, either by category, or through keyword searching.

Search Engines cover most of the Web and allow you to search by keyword:

Subject-Based Search Tools are structured into hierarchical subject trees or specialized by topic, and usually also allow you to search by keyword. While they are not, in general, as comprehensive as the Search Engines listed above, some include additional useful features. Magellan and the Internet Public Library, for instance, rate their included listings. Meta-Indexes let you search multiple information sources all at once. Commercial Search Tools let you search information sources often not readily available on the Internet, but charge a fee.
